Port of Spain, Trinidad: Monday; January 26, 2026: — Carnival Is Fashion 2 delivered an electrifying showcase of creativity on Sunday evening, attracting an increased number of patrons over last year and transforming the Queen’s Park Savannah Grand Stage into a vibrant celebration of fashion, music and masquerade.
Before a near-capacity audience, models confidently crossed the Savannah stage in creatively crafted designs that reflected the innovation, craftsmanship and bold visual language of Trinidad and Tobago’s fashion industry.
Designers featured included The Cloth; Zadd & Eastman; Dianne Hunt / Tennessee Ramnarinesingh; DAWW Creations; Indigenous Philosophy by Dominique La Roche; SGP Resort; SM Warner…Art with Attitude; Yesa Designs; Mark Eastman; Elizabeth Lucas; Lost Tribe; and special guest designer April Walker.
Their work was on full display under the watchful eye of Andrew Madan Ramroop, OBE, CMTT, who was among the special guests.
The runway experience was punctuated by high-energy musical performances from soca artistes Patrice Roberts and Nailah Blackman, and featured entertainment by DJ Ana and Ultra Simmo. Adding unmistakable Carnival flair that further enthralled the audience, Blue Devils, Jab Jab, Bats, Moko Jumbies and a Tambu Bamboo band moved seamlessly through the production.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Carnival Commission (NCC), Keiba Jacob Mottley, welcomed the strong turnout and praised the creative team for elevating the Carnival experience.
“Carnival Is Fashion 2 exceeded expectations and demonstrated the growing appetite for experiences that spotlight the full creative ecosystem of Carnival. Our designers truly showed out, and the increased audience this year is a clear signal that fashion has a powerful place on the Carnival stage,” Jacob-Mottley said.
“We deeply appreciated the presence of the Honourable Michelle Benjamin, Minister of Culture and Community Development, and the Gold Commander for Carnival 2026, Deputy Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin, and for their continued leadership and support during this season. This event reflects our commitment to celebrating all aspects of what makes Carnival distinct and exciting, under our 2026 theme — Yuh Go Love Dis.”
Conceptualised and produced by Richard Young, Carnival Is Fashion 2 reinforced the NCC’s commitment to placing a spotlight on all dimensions of Carnival — from mas and music to fashion and performance — while appealing to diverse audiences and presenting Trinidad and Tobago’s creative excellence on one of the region’s most iconic stages.
