Opening of John Cupid Carnival Village

Port of Spain, Trinidad, January 31, 2025: Packed with performances from some of the biggest names in Carnival and featuring a wide range of 100% local cultural and culinary treats, the NCC John Cupid Carnival Village returns to the Queen’s Park Savannah with a star-studded concert on Friday, February 7 at 6 pm.

Carded to perform will be Mical Teja, Yung Bredda, Farmer Nappy, MX Prime, Salty, Ding Dong, Rikki Jai, Stacey Sobers, Squeezy Rankin, Freetown Collective, Ravi B, and much more.

The John Cupid Carnival Village, named in honour of local Carnival historian and cultural organiser, John Gladstone Cupid, is free and open to the public and features a taste of everything Trinidad and Tobago Carnival.

With special days for schoolchildren of all ages and cruise ship visitors, this year, thousands will immerse themselves in a one-of-a-kind experience with Traditional Carnival Character Mas presentations and specially themed concerts.

In commenting on the 2025 edition, NCC Chairman, Winston “Gypsy” Peters, said, “As we continue to celebrate John’s legacy, we showcase our rich Carnival traditions and icons. We eagerly look forward to welcoming the world to the Village in 2025, a home for cultural, musical, and artistic excellence.”
