50th Anniversary Panorama - The DVD Has Been Released
The scintillating music and bands’ performances at the National Panorama Medium & Large Conventional Finals are captured “live” on DVD and CD.
Panorama Finals 2013 – The DVD is produced by Pan Trinbago in collaboration with Advance Dynamics who has already demonstrated its capability to deliver a high end quality product is available at leading music shops.
The DVD promises to be a collectors’ item with sights, sounds, interviews and music never before experienced on digital format. It also promises to fill the void for many Trinbagonians at home and abroad and those who want a souvenir of national culture and heritage- PAN-- reserved and displayed like never before. Retail price is TT$300.00.
”Panorama 2013, a competition for the best playing Road March Steelband, was introduced by the National Association of Trinidad & Tobago Steelbands men (NATTS) in the season of the first Carnival after Trinidad & Tobago gained Independence on August 31st, 1962.
“The competition was held at the Queen’s Park Savannah on Sunday 17th February 1963 with the Grand Finals on Friday 22nd February 1963 at which ten 910) bands played. The competition was won by Pan Am North Stars led by Anthony Williams with the Slinger Francisco’s composition “Dan Is the Man”.
The DVD albums were recorded, mixed and mastered by Yoichi Watanabe, Katsunari “Kats” Imai of UTT – The Academy for the Performing Arts/Music Technology and duplicated by AD while the CDs were duplicated by Crosby’s .
The CD comprised three (3) discs featuring the 21 Medium & Large Bands finalists and bonus tracks of Small Conventional Band and Single Pan Bands winners as they performed at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, and Skinner Park, San Fernando, respectively. The CD package will be sold at $300.
Panorama 2013 in addition to being the 50th Anniversary is in tribute to pan maestro Bertie Marshall ORTT.
The original Panorama DVD and CD are available at most of the major music stores i.e. Cleve’s One Stop Music Shop, Crosby’s Music Centre, Western Main Road, St. James, Kam’s Record Store, Long Circular Mall, Piarco International Airport and at Pan Trinbago Head Office, Park Street, Port of Spain.
