NCC Carnival 2013 Update

At the VIP Lounge of The Queens Park Savannah yesterday National Carnival Commission Chairman Ms. Allison Demas gave the assurance that everything is in place for a flawless and successful Carnival 2013.

Ms.Demas gave an update on activities regarding Carnival 2013 .The area from Keate Street to the track of the Queens Park Savannah will be a sterile area for masqueraders only.

Bands will proceed South on St. Vincent Street and North on Charlotte Street,

In an effort to reduce congestion at the entrance t he savannah vendors and spectators will be accommodated in designated areas.

The National Carnival Commission has improved the comfort of masquarders and participators in term of toilet facilities. The NCC plans to put in place sixty units for the special use of masquerders entering and leaving the Savannah. These facilities will have ongoing security and cleaning. There will be another one hundred and forty units for vendors and patrons. Units will be placed at competition venues and strategic locations along the parade route.

Unlimited Events was selected to produce this year's new look Dimanche Gras show. The show is entitled 'I am Carnival."

Derrick Lewis creative director of Unlimited Events promises a shorter show from that of previous years. The show is approximately two and half to three hours of engaging, informative and exciting performances and great theatre.

Mr, Lewis promises performances form the old school, new school, local, foreign based, extempo and rapso.
