NCC Mourns the Passing Of Ken “Professor” Philmore
Port of Spain, Trinidad: Monday, October 1, 2018: The National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCC) joins with the Nation in remembering the life of Ken “Professor” Philmore, renowned steel pan prodigy, musical ambassador and cultural stalwart, who died on September 30 at the age of 58.
A beloved true son of the soil, Professor was influential in shaping the steel pan landscape, impressing audiences with his talent, flair and creativity. Beyond his numerous accolades, groundbreaking collaborations with many industry legends, and international performances in some of the most prestigious venues in the world, he helped spark a love for the instrument in the hearts of many young steel pan players and aficionados as a lecturer in Trinidad and Tobago and the United States.
The NCC joins with the Nation in remembering Professor - a cultural champion and musical titan bar none. He will truly be missed.
