NCC Conducts Carnival 2019 Visitor Exit Surveys At Piarco International Airport And Port Of Spain Ferry Terminal
Port of Spain, Trinidad, March 7, 2019: As the final curtain draws down on Carnival 2019, the National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCC) will be conducting Visitor Exit Surveys. We want to collect information from visitors on their experiences of and expenditure on carnival and carnival related activities. This information will help us to determine how the Carnival experience can be further enhanced.
The Commission will be conducting exit surveys at the Piarco International Airport and the Port of Spain Ferry Terminal, starting from March 6 and ending on March 13, 2019. Stationed throughout and around the airport’s and ferry’s departure lounges will be NCC survey teams, clearly identifiable by official NCC photo badges, who will solicit feedback from as many Carnival visitors as possible.
Commenting on the initiative, NCC Chairman, Winston Gypsy Peters said, “This survey is related to a wider exercise whereby we sought feedback from patrons of some of our major events this season, including the Carnival Village and the Dimanche Gras Show.”
“As we continue to invest in Carnival, making it more viable and sustainable, it is important that we hear from as many of the people who come to our shores as possible,” Peters added.
While there are many local initiatives planned toward that goal, Peters added that the NCC, in seeking to supplement existing data collection practices by building on the practice of obtaining visitor statistical information as a way to foster and inform more in-depth discussions and decisions on how to effectively develop sustainable carnival products and to market our carnival to the world.
The NCC also urges persons who complete the survey to share their email contact with the enumerators as it seeks to develop a robust Customer Relationship Management Programme that will allow to the NCC to send updates on new developments for Carnival 2020 and beyond.
