St. Mary’s A Roger Sambury And Princes Town Take Top Honours In National Stick Fighting Finals 2019
Port of Spain, Trinidad: Thursday, February 28, 2019: Roger Sambury from St. Mary’s A took home the title of King of the Rock 2019, defeating Anderson Marcano from Princes Town, who took second, and Selwyn John from Mayaro, who took third in the National Stick Fighting Competition Finals held on Wednesday, February 27 at the Arima Velodrome.
Despite the inclement weather, it was once again a hotly contested affair with action from start to finish. In the end, the St. Mary’s A stick fighter, Sambury would stand proud as the newest-crowned King of the Rock and the winner of the “Past Carib Queen Jennifer Cassar” Challenge Trophy and $10,000 cash prize.
In the Gayelle competition, Princes Town struck big as the winners, edging out Valiante Brothers, and Corner Spot who finished second and third respectively.
